ONTARIO MASTERS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2018

This event has been CANCELLED due to low snow conditions.

Ontario Masters has been moved to Highlands Nordic for 2018.

Due to the fire at Hardwood on Christmas Day, we could not ensure sufficient indoor facilities/washrooms etc. Highlands has graciously agreed to host the event, and we are excited to have this professional group organize some great racing!
Some details and scheduling have changed. See updated schedule and info below.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE RACE SECRETARY AT HIGHLANDS IS COMMITTED TO THE ONTARIO WINTER GAMES FROM FEBRUARY 28 - MARCH 2 (YES, THE DAY OF YOUR FIRST RACE) SO THE PRE-REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS EARLIER THAN NORMAL - MONDAY, FEBRUARY 26 AT MIDNIGHT - SO THAT THE START LIST AND BIBS ARE READY FOR FRIDAY AFTERNOON.  THE START LIST WILL BE POSTED TO ZONE 4 ON FEBRUARY 27TH.

Schedule of races are:
Friday March 2
3:30 pm - 10 km Skate
4:45 pm - Awards
5:30 pm - Ontario Masters AGM and social
Saturday March 3
9:00 am - 20 km Classic
11:00 am - 20 km Skate
1:00 pm - Awards
5:30 pm - Ontario Masters Banquet and awards
Sunday March 4
9:30 am - 10 km Classic
11:00 am - Awards

The AGM/Social on Friday evening will be at Highlands and includes snacks/veggies/pizza and an assortment of beverages. It is a great time to catch up with other members, make suggestions and hear what going on with your organization.

The Ontario Masters Banquet on Saturday will take place at Highlands Nordic. They assure a great hearty and healthy meal, and we will do the 2017 season awards. Cash Bar will be open for the Banquet.
There are numerous accommodation options in the Collingwood area. With all events at Highlands, we do not have a specific accommodation partner, but allow you to make your own personal choice.
We encourage you all to attend! It should be a very fun event, varied courses, and great time of year for ski conditions.
We also welcome any volunteers for any or all part of the event.
Information and Registration is open at https://zone4.ca/reg.asp?id=17425
Please feel free to contact Kelly at Highlands with questions or if interested in helping skiinfo@highlandsnordic.ca

  1. plese organize these raced earlier in the season, we have great ski conditions in January and February statistically. I did Biathlon and loppet for last 2 years in March and most March races were cancelled both years due to low snow conditions.
